Helping
Children Build Confidence Around Sleep
Welcome to Chasing Dreams Sleep Support
About Me
Hi, I’m Tess, a certified sleep consultant, paediatrician and most importantly a mum. I live in Aberdeenshire with my husband, our 5 year old twins and our crazy dog!

Raising twins during a pandemic, while my husband was working offshore, gave me a real understanding of the demands of parenting and how much sleep can affect family life. I know how challenging it can feel when sleep is difficult, and I bring that understanding, alongside my clinical experience, into every family I support.
My background in paediatrics has given me experience supporting children and families, understanding child development, health and wellbeing. Combined with my specialist training in children’s sleep, this allows me to bring together medical knowledge, sleep science and real-life parenting experience.
I feel incredibly grateful to use my skills as a doctor, sleep consultant and mum to support children and families through their sleep journey.
My Credentials

How can I help you?
Watching your child struggle with sleep can be incredibly difficult. Whether bedtime has become filled with worries, your child relies on you to fall asleep, or they wake in the night feeling unable to settle, poor sleep can affect every part of their life. Over time, it can impact their confidence, emotional wellbeing, learning, and ability to enjoy everyday childhood.
My passion is to help children develop a positive, healthy relationship with sleep. I provide personalised, evidence-based support and guidance to help you understand what is driving your child’s sleep difficulties and how to gently and effectively make lasting change.
You may recognise some of the following:
– Difficulty falling asleep or settling at bedtime
– Worries, fears, or “what if” thoughts at night
– Difficulty separating from a parent at bedtime or overnight
– Needing a parent present to fall asleep or return to sleep
– Frequent reassurance seeking during the evening or night
– Overthinking or a busy mind at bedtime
– Bedtime resistance or long, drawn-out routines
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Together, we’ll work towards calmer evenings, more settled nights, and helping your child develop the confidence and skills they need to enjoy healthy, restorative sleep.
I understand the science behind sleep and the impact that sleep difficulties can have on children, both emotionally and physically. As a paediatrician, certified sleep consultant and mum, I combine clinical knowledge with a compassionate, practical approach. There is no judgement here—just support, guidance, and a plan tailored to your child and your family.
My goal isn’t simply to help your child sleep tonight. It’s to help them understand sleep, develop confidence around bedtime and gain skills they can use for years to come.

When worries are affecting your child’s sleep
Sleep difficulties are rarely just about sleep. Bedtime worries, fears, unhelpful sleep habits and learned patterns can all play a part in keeping children stuck in a cycle of poor sleep. Understanding why your child is struggling is the first step towards creating lasting change.
I work with children and young people aged 5–16 to understand what is driving their sleep difficulties and create a personalised plan tailored to their individual needs. My approach is holistic and evidence-based, drawing on CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) principles adapted for children and young people.
Rather than simply focusing on helping your child fall asleep, we work together to understand what is keeping them awake and gently break the unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that have developed around sleep. From helping children feel safe and secure at bedtime to teaching practical strategies to manage worried thoughts, calm the nervous system and develop healthy sleep habits, my aim is to empower children with skills that will benefit them long after our sessions have finished.
As both a paediatrician and certified sleep consultant, I combine my understanding of children’s health, sleep science and emotional wellbeing to provide compassionate, personalised support. Together, we’ll equip both you and your child with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make lasting changes, so sleep becomes something your child enjoys rather than something they fear.

What other parents are saying
We found the process of working with you professional and consistent. You took a real interest in our daughters needs, likes and dislikes within the process. We really benefitted from the 1:1 and nothing felt ‘textbook’ you really did put the effort in and tailored the process to our needs…I am on cloud 9 with the experience we’ve had for all the obvious reasons!

Highly recommend Tess! Our 2 year old who was always an amazing sleeper, regressed massively after her baby brother was born. Tess gave us multiple gentle techniques that we could try and she was there to support us and answer any questions throughout the process. She’s incredibly knowledgable, supportive and lovely to work with. Thank you Tess
